Pearl Dragonfly and Poetry Pendant
The jewelry is almost finished for Worldcon, so I took some time today to take photos, including this one of a pearl and garnet dragonfly silver pendant.

Actual size is 2.5"wide by 2" high.

The "Not Waving but Drowning" pendant (the text is from a Stevie Smith poem) is finished. It took forever to carve and I'm thrilled with it.  I thought about it for over 6 months before I had the desgin I wanted. The holly blue stone is perfect for the wave sensibility.  I feel like I've managed to put the emotion of the poem into the text carving.  I've never tried to do that before. but the size and design limitations made it necessary.  It's not something I expected to be able to do and it opens up a whole new area of work for me.  The pendant is not photographable like my previous text "Eye of the Blackbird pendant, but I will have it at Worldcon.  The subtlety of the text pieces makes them extremely difficult to make images of and as I've said before, I prefer my challenges to be artistic.

Mood: Elated about the work but not about the world

Your pearl dragonfly is astonishing. I look forward to whatever day brings a look at "Not Waving but Drowning" my way.

Thanks. It's an amazing pearl. Maybe see you in Oct. at Worldfantasy?

The dragonfly is beautiful! Hope to see the "Not Waving" pendant one of these days, too. :-)

I really hope so too. I think that "slowly" there will be other text pieces.

I have come down with a case of TERMINAL COVET.

I'm flattered to have brought on a severe case of covetousness
