It's related to labradorite. The two I have are black with intense silver lines and chatoyant reflections. (I'm packing jewelry tonight and tomorrow so there's no time for a photo right now.)
Mineralogically speaking it's actually called enstatite and this form is esnstatite with iron (Mg,Fe)2Si2O6). It's a magnesium silicate.
I love the fact that there will always be stones that I'm seeing for the first time.
Stones are packed, including a pair of pearls that will make perfect dragon fly wings. Another first time, I've never had pearls that would work this way before.
Really looking forward to Boskone. It's a place I get to see a lot of people who don't pass my way very often. Hope I see lots of you there.
