Had a delicious Shanghai dumpling late brunch, and since then I've been doing tax work (not my favorite thing).
Laura, (who commissioned the jade ring) said she wouldn't look at my jewelry diary until she received the ring. So I'm giving myself the pleasure of putting it up now.
It's a litle more then half an inch long (10/16ths). The jade is an antique carving of two classic stylized pieces of fruit. The setting in 14 kt has a Chinese style closed flower and vine. She has an antique carved jade and gold pendant that I made last year. I was really luck to have a ring stone that works so well with it. Both stones not only have that fine green color but also the soft texture of good jade. Soft may not be the right word. It's hard to describe, but I love the feel of this jade.
