Working Hard on Waxes

I've been laying low and working on lots of new waxes and finishing some I've been working on for along time.

This includes a sapphire cat earring in gold for David Ludke that has a total measurement of about 3/8 of an inch.  The setting is the cat and it even has a facial expression.  I'm pretty jazzed about it.  I even called David and that's against my rule of not talking to folks while I'm carving but before the work is cast. (Since there is always the possibility that something can go wrong.)

I have been working with a stunning purple spectralite (among other colors) from Finland.  The setting is somewhat flame like and reflects the movement in the stone.

So, I've been having a wonderful time.  I need large chunks of time to do this kind of work and it's been a pleasure to have them.  I'm casting a group of pieces this week.

And I solved the design issues on a very complex silver and diamond necklace commission that focuses on 2 antique Laotian earrings. (There should eventually be a photo of this.)

And I'll be continuing to carve work this week.
