Thinking about the Madagascar jasper commission for Nancy Cobb.. This stone is found in one place on the northwest coast of the island off Africa. It's a relatively recent discovery. .Ocean jasper is a variety of orbicular jasper, a type of jasper named for the spherical shapes that pattern the stone.
It's a charming stone with a slightly silly quality. The setting is going to be exploding flowers (think I've mentioned this already). I think I'm close to figuring out how to do that.Yes I will put up a photo but not tonight. It's getting late and I'm still not completely over this bug
Speaking of photos, this is the chatoyant malachite with druze christals that I was writing about earlier this week. This is a little smaller then full size.
I'm at the point where I"m pretty happy with the stone photos and will be posting them. Jewelry images are getting better (truthfully I haven't been working on them that long) and I'll probably put some up soon even if I'm not thrilled.
After I posted this I found an absurd number of typos. Hopefully they're all fixed. I must be tired.
